Night at the Emergency Room

We had a little bit of a scare yesterday. McCoy's school called me and told me that McCoy had a head on collision with another little boy on the playground during recess and got a black eye. They said he wasn't settling down so I drove down to pick him up. To make a long story shorter he started throwing up as soon as we got outside the school. Throughout the day he continued to throw up and wasn't acting like his usual happy, active self so at 7 pm we took him to Wee Care where they referred us to Primary Children's Hospital. They were concerned about the way his eye was looking and the throwing up. Luckily my good friend, Katie, let Paisley sleep over while we drove down to Primary's for a CT scan of McCoy's head. He suffered a concussion and was so tough but tired as well. We were initially cleared at about midnight and called back this morning because radiology found an optic floor fracture to his left eye. So we were at the hospital all morning while he was having his eyes examined. He was still not acting like himself but after falling asleep in the car and eating a piece of bread this afternoon he finally started to improve and the throwing up slowed down. It was pretty scarey but after the scans and tests he was cleared. We just have to follow up with the eye doctor in 3 weeks and his pediatrician in 5 days. The other little boy was fine. I think McCoy lost the battle. He was really good for going through all that and just reminded us of how tough he is.

So sorry to read about his challenges. Glad that he is recovering. It has to be so darn hard for you. Good thing we have our faith.
