Three Weeks Later

It has been just over three weeks since we brought our Paisley home. It has been an adventure having two kids to deal with. Brandon was able to stay home the first week and help me with both of them. I was dreading Monday when he had to return to work. The first week alone was a little nerve racking, but we are getting better at dealing with both their schedules. McCoy is getting used to sharing his world with his little sister too. Just today he had another big change in his life. We took him back to the hearing specialist and got him fitted and put into hearing aides. At first he had a really hard time, but as soon as we left the room he started to realize what was going on. He was pretty silent for the drive home and when we arrived home he actually sat down and watched about five minutes of a movie! He never does that! As he took in the sounds around him he got more comfortable with getting around. I was surprised to see that he really didn't try to take them out of his ears during the day. I thought we would have a hard time getting him to wear them, but it seems like he doesn't mind them too much, except when we are trying to put them into his ears. It has been interesting watching him just today. It seems to help him focus on things, which is nice. He didn't seem to get as frustrated during the day. We will see what the following days will bring however. Paisley is doing so well. She is already eating 6 ounces! We can't believe it. She has gained over a pound. We can't believe that either. There is such a difference between McCoy and her. It is so interesting to learn how each of them works. What an adventure is has been, but we have loved it at the same time. We are so blessed to have our family close as well. We received a special visit from my aunts from Oklahoma and Arizona and also Travis popped in for a surprise as well from Puerto Rico. We couldn't believe it. Anyways, that is the update for right now. We are still figuring out the blog thing, so sorry for the glitches here and there. Hope all of you are well.

Glad to hear everything's going well with both kids! I'm happy that McCoy is adjusting well to the hearing aids, that's great. We love you guys. Kayleen is always saying how much she likes and misses McCoy and things he is the cutest kid. Anyways, we're excited to see you all again in a few weeks.
